PERSONAL INTERESTS
I am also a percussionist, instructor/mentor/arranger, music maker, and homebrewer.

INSTRUCTOR & MENTOR

Teaching and arranging marching percussion has been a huge part of my life for over 21 years. For about a decade, I was heavily involved in the CB South HS music program in Warrington, PA, where I served in several roles including band director, assistant band director, percussion caption head, battery arranger, and show design team member. During the 2011, 2012, and 2013 seasons, the Marching Titans earned first place in their class and received the High Percussion Award at both state and national championships.

I also served as the battery arranger and percussion consultant for the Hempfield HS Marching Band and Indoor Percussion Ensemble from 2013 to 2016. During that time, the indoor ensemble earned multiple medals in Tournament Indoor Association (TIA), including a first-place finish in 2015. In 2016, the Hempfield Marching Knights medaled at the Bands of America (BOA) Grand National Championships, and the indoor percussion ensemble advanced to the WGI World Championships, where they became semi-finalists.

Many of my former students have gone on to perform with world-renowned drum and bugle corps, indoor percussion ensembles, and collegiate marching bands. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see their talent and dedication take them to programs such as The Bluecoats, The Cadets, Jersey Surf, Phantom Regiment, Raiders, Reading Buccaneers, Field of View Percussion, Matrix Percussion, Penn State Indoor, United Percussion and UP2 — as well as university ensembles at the University of Delaware, Kutztown University, Millersville University, Penn State University, the University of Pittsburgh, Temple University, West Chester University, and the University of Wyoming.

I currently serve as the co-percussion caption head, battery arranger, and show design team member for the Kutztown University Marching Unit. I oversee the instruction and performance development of the marching percussion program — from crafting the battery book and coordinating with the staff, to shaping the musical and visual design of each season’s production. Working with everyone at KU has been an incredible experience, combining creativity and passion to produce engaging performances that continue to raise the standard for the ensemble each year.
PERCUSSION
ARRANGER
For over 21 years, I’ve arranged custom percussion and drumline music for competitive high school and collegiate marching programs. My work combines musical precision with creative energy, crafting scores that challenge performers while elevating the ensemble’s overall sound and visual impact.

Each new project brings the opportunity to blend rhythmic complexity, musical storytelling, and performance-driven design, creating percussion books that are as exciting to play as they are to hear.

MUSIC MAKER

I’ve been playing drums and percussion for nearly 30 years, a lifelong passion that continues to shape how I approach rhythm, collaboration, and creativity. My primary instrument is the drum set, but my experience spans everything from rock bands and electronic music to world percussion and marching ensembles.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to perform with a world percussion ensemble at PASIC, the world’s largest percussion convention, and to march with the Reading Buccaneers Drum and Bugle Corps from 2005–2009, an incredible five-year stretch where the corps and percussion section remained undefeated.

Beyond competition, I’ve also explored performance in more intimate and community-driven settings. As a member of Drum Smack, a percussion ensemble based at Kutztown University, I performed weekly at a local café, across campus, and even led percussion clinics for elementary school students, experiences that deepened my love for both performance and education.
At home, I’ve built a fully outfitted soundproof practice and recording studio, a room-within-a-room constructed in my basement for total acoustic control. The space is wired with 32 channels of patchable ethernet, allowing me to send and receive video and audio signals to and from any corner of the room. My drum set is fully mic’d through a 32-channel digital mixer, ready for multi-cam livestreaming or recording at a moment’s notice. It’s my creative playground, a space where technology and performance come together.
HOMEBREWER
Over the past few years, I’ve been brewing beer as a hobby in my basement, exploring different styles and learning a little more with each batch. I’ve brewed everything from IPAs and hazy IPAs to wheat ales, cream ales, and even pumpkin pie ales, crafting over a dozen unique brews along the way. While not every batch has been a masterpiece, a few have turned out so well that they keep me inspired to fire up the kettle again and continue refining my craft.

My personal favorite beers that I’ve brewed are “Oh My Gourd!” — an imperial pumpkin ale (a Southern Tier Pumpking clone) brewed with six pounds of toasted, locally grown fairytale pumpkins, vanilla bean, and spices and “Urqmagerd IPA,” a New England–style IPA brewed with oats, milk sugar, cherry, vanilla, and lactose.
