Role

Producer, Cinematographer, Co-Editor

The Freedman Bank Forum Documentary Series is a three-episode short-form docu-series created for the U.S. Department of the Treasury in partnership with the Freedman Bank Forum and Mainline AV, commemorating the legacy of Freedman’s Bank and its modern-day relevance to economic equity and community development. The series brings together voices from government, finance, and community leadership to explore critical socio-economic challenges facing underserved communities in America. Through a blend of interviews, archival footage, and motion graphics, the films were designed to educate socially conscious investors, policymakers, and community advocates while anchoring the Forum’s conversations in real-world impact.

Each episode focuses on a distinct but connected theme: Equitable Recovery, examining the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 and federal relief efforts; Building Wealth and Expanding Opportunity, highlighting major initiatives like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the CHIPS and Science Act; and The Economic Opportunity Coalition, which showcases bipartisan collaboration and community-driven solutions to expand access to capital. Together, the series illuminates how policy, public-private partnerships, and financial institutions can work in concert to promote long-term economic resilience and systemic change, with each film concluding in a clear call to action

In association with Mainline AV, I served as co-producer, cinematographer, and co-editor on the project, overseeing the execution from production through post. I filmed on-location in Washington, DC, capturing interviews with Jacqueline Garcel, Vicky Garcia, Jessica Fulton, Christopher Weaver, and Dominik Mjartan, whose perspectives were woven across all three episodes to create a cohesive narrative arc. The project required balancing cinematic storytelling with clarity and accuracy on complex policy topics, resulting in a documentary series that is both informative and emotionally grounded, and one that reflects my experience leading multi-episode, mission-driven documentary work at a national level.
