MY STORY

Video making has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, dating back to the “dark days” of analog video capture. Looking back, it feels like the first season of a story I didn’t know I was starting. Technology has come a long way since then…
and thankfully, so have I.

Most people look at my dashing appearance and charming demeanor and assume I’m the coolest person you’d ever meet. They are, for the most part, correct, and it happens alarmingly often. What they don’t see is the countless hours I’ve spent behind a computer, ensuring each and every project gets my full attention.

If you’ve ever collaborated with me on a project, you’ve undoubtedly benefited from my attention to detail and meticulousness. I wouldn’t exactly call it OCD, per se, but I have been known to get picky with things I produce. Most people don’t notice, but I’m convinced those tiny details add up to make the overall product better (or at least that’s what I keep telling myself).

After achieving a degree in Electronic Media at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, I accepted a highly regarded apprenticeship at one of the largest production and post-production facilities on the East Coast. It was here where I learned from some of the most respected editors and motion designers in the industry. One of these mentors actually tried persuading me not to be self-employed. I obviously didn’t take his advice, but hey, character growth is real.

For the next few years, I took on the role of video artist at a digital marketing agency where I was responsible for all aspects of video production. This allowed me to diversify my motion portfolio with projects across corporate, education, non-profit, and medical markets. I then went on to create several cinematic-style short films on the side, unaware that I was paving the way for my future role as a business owner and creative director.

My Skynine chapter became a foundational part of my career. For over a decade, I co-owned and operated a full-service video production company, creating everything from documentaries and branded films to live multi-cam productions. I was involved in nearly every project from the initial handshake through delivery, shaping the creative vision and guiding each stage of production. It was an immersive, formative experience that strengthened my craft and tested my caffeine tolerance in all the right ways.

Like most Greater Philadelphia area suburbanites, I say I’m from Philadelphia even though I live about a half-hour outside the city. I still eat hoagies, I still go down the shore, and “whiz witout,” “Go Phils,” and “jawn” are all still parts of my everyday vocabulary. I live in Montgomery County with my beautiful wife Rachael and our adorable Mini Australian Shepherd named Kelby, who is pretty much treated as our only child and honestly, it’s better that way. She’s a diva and she knows it (my wife, that is).

The one and only thing I’ve done longer than video making is drumming. Beginning my noisemaking journey at the spry age of 10, I became obsessed with drums, percussion, and music-making. By age 13, I made my first homemade multi-track recording with a dual tape deck, plenty of intuition, and a high-spirited attitude. I wouldn’t exactly call it a hit, but it gave grunge music a run for its money. Had my parents known they were signing up for a decade of relentless, loud basement sounds, they would have encouraged the chess club. It could have been worse, though, because my wife signed up for a lifetime of noise by choice (as if being a high school band director wasn't enough).

And now, after an unforgettable run of plot twists, creative arcs, and the occasional cliffhanger, I’m gearing up for the next season of my professional life. Think of it as a soft reboot: same main character, bigger budget, and an exciting new storyline where I bring all my hard-earned experience to a fresh cast and a brand-new adventure. From basement beats to broadcast edits, I’m ready to take everything I’ve learned and pour it into whatever comes next.
